Sword Fighting & Quarter Staff
Sword fighting is far more complex than it may initially seem. As a martial art, it moves and flows like a dance, and you need to be able to read your opponent and react to their moves almost before they make them. You need to be quick, to think on your feet, and to plan out your responses ahead of time.
Sword fighting and quarter-staff combat are great activities for teaching campers coordination, motion, discipline, emotional regulation, good sportsmanship and teamwork. They will learn how to read their opponents and to trust their own instincts. Not only that, but they get to wear body padding and hit each other with foam swords! Awesome!
Our lesson plans have been created, very carefully and with much trial and error, with a set of progressive levels for campers to work through in order to become a master sword fighter over the past 21 years by Dr. Randall Grayson. We will include for you all of the safety information we have learned in our running of this activity, and provide you with our recommendations for the purchasing of all equipment.
We have a large stock of videos we’ve created for helping you learn how to instruct like a pro, and we’ll send you everything we’ve learnt to assist you in running a safe and exciting “Battle Royale” for campers who progress to higher levels.
