Traditional arts are a wonderful way for you to connect your campers to the magic of history, and give them an appreciation of a time without technology.

WHIP

There are a variety of ways to crack a whip, and our lesson plan will take you through each of them progressively. Teaching campers the art of whip cracking is a great way to confidently pass on the merits of responsibility around potentially harmful objects. Not only that, but the campers will be supremely proud of themselves when they get it to crack for the first time!

We will pass on our experience with teaching this skill safely and methodically and provide you with different activities you can do with your campers to make the whip-cracking activity fun and exciting. We’ll also include everything we’ve learned about safely cracking a fire whip for performances!

LASSO

The lasso is also not an easy task, and is a challenge that could occupy a camper for hours. Yet it will provide an immense amount of satisfaction upon getting a grip on this exciting skill. Our lesson plan aims to reduce the amount of time it takes for a camper to work out how to control their rope, and to make the journey of learning fun for them by offering useful and exciting games and lassoing tricks.

Be careful not to teach them TOO well however, or you may find all your counselors lassoed, captured and locked in the office while the campers eat all the watermelon! Oh No!
