All Camp Programs - Discover what goes into them
ALL of our all-camp programs are ENTIRELY unique. You will not find them anywhere else, and there are very few resources available that will offer you anything even remotely similar. Those that you will find provide around 5% of the information we offer you; they aim to give you the idea, we aim to give you a fully functional program AND we will help you to implement it!!!
What you could do:
-
Create and develop a program of your own from scratch. This will take approximately 50+hrs of work at roughly $10 per hour, including research for the creation of characters, stations, game rules etc. You will need to:
- Research all the equipment needed.
- Trial and error the program, adding rules, changing stations, etc.
- Create resources needed: pictures, riddles, print-outs, etc.
- Research free resources and build upon those:
- Research all the equipment needed.
- Read books on camp games for ideas and watch camp videos.
What we offer:
- Thorough rules for each game.
- Characters – costume ideas, complete explanations, scripts.
- Stations for the game.
- Video footage of the game in action.
- Equipment list for the entire game.
Print outs and direct resources needed for the game.
- Safety considerations (except those which site specific – we would love for you to chat to us about those!).
- Photos.
- A one hour telephone conversation with a member of our staff, well-versed in the program, to help you adapt it to your needs and answer any questions.
- Email contact for any questions that arise during your implementation.
- Special offers relating to your purchase and program updates.
Benefits:
- You invest considerably less time and staffing in researching the program.
- You receive a unique idea, developed in-house, that has been successfully implemented at our camp.
- You receive the benefit of learning from OUR mistakes, and the knowledge that has been gained from multiple times running the program.
- A program which focuses on camper satisfaction and learning, without encouraging competitiveness or rewards to a high degree.
- Many creative variations for the activity.
- Reliable contact with a human being, who can answer any questions and help you adapt the program to fit your organization’s needs.
- The knowledge that our campers loved the program! All programs offered on the site received high reviews from our campers on anonymous evaluations filled out by EVERY camper who participated in the program – these statistics are available upon request.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
The knowledge that our programs stay within very specific guidelines. We have created our all-camp programs based on our camp philosophy in a wider sense. Some things you may like to know about our programs:
- Our programs are written with the intention of being largely non-competitive, and with fun as the main focus. Some programs center on group work, using both individual and group strengths. However, these games can all be adapted easily to be as competitive as you would like them to be. If you would be interested in reading our “philosophy on competition” document, please contact us; we would love to send it to you.
- Our all-camp programs have been developed to be run by camp staff, rather than external performers. This is because it is extremely expensive to hire external performers, and because camp staff are more than capable of engaging campers (after all, that’s what we are here for). Another reason for not bringing in external performers, or, say, going out to baseball games, is that it is important for campers to see fun and play as an inside job - the community makes that happen. When people are trained to think externally, they see the world as needing to provide that for them. The games we create/sell are fun because the campers and staff TOGETHER make them fun.
- Lots of programs offered at camps focus on dating and relationships, and they also have a large focus on passive activity. Most of the campers would be watching instead of taking part, and we don’t believe in that.
- We avoid programs that are based on media as much as possible, although sometimes we do run programs that are based on films or TV shows. If this is the case, we make them very much our own, usually just borrowing the idea. It is not just a case of repackaging a story line. The reason we do this is to show our campers a world of wonder and enchantment, away from media; a world where their dreams can come true, and where they have a real effect on their surroundings.
- We seek continual feedback from staff and campers so that our programs can be constantly improved.
If you purchase 5 or more all-camp programs from us (at any time), we will GIVE you our “Master of Fun and Games” Manual, which comprehensively builds a profile on how to create your own successful all-camp programs. These guidelines are invaluable to your camp’s continual progression year after year, and returning campers will be surprised by new and unique games each and every summer.
This can also be bought separately for $500
